Description[]
Being the fourth enemy encountered on Halloween 2017, Halloween 2018, Halloween 2020 and Halloween 2023. The Reaper is very slow, it is considered the first boss encountered by the players. It is best to bring high firerate and explosive towers to deal with the Reaper.
Treat the Reaper as a buffed Necromancer, as it spawns enemies tougher than Summons such as Zombies and Giant Skeletons and provide protection for the Reaper.
In Halloween 2020 and Halloween 2023, the Reaper is the seventh enemy to be encountered. The Reaper now has more health than before and spawns more often. Unlike the previous two Halloween events, the Reaper can now spawn two types of enemies: Graveyard Zombies and Giant Skeletons. It's best to bring rapid-firing and high-damaging troops to take out the Reaper.
Appearance[]
2017[]
The Reaper's appearance is similar to a Necromancer with longer sleeves. Just like the Necromancer, it has gray skin, gray skull pads, and black clothing. It wears a gray hood covering its entire head and it wields a scythe instead of a staff.
2018[]
The Reaper's appearance remains the same but has been recolored. The skin and skull pauldrons are black and wears red clothing and hood.
2020 & 2023[]
The Reaper had an entire revamp to its looks. It resembles its 2017 counterpart, but has black skulls like its 2018 counterpart. The skull pads appear to have red eyes and nose, as the eyes have an infuriated look. The Reaper is noticeable with the sandy cape it wears, the way it wields its scythe, and the red eyes and teeth under his hood. It also had sleeves, like the current Necromancer.
Tactics[]
- The main difficulty of fighting the Reaper are the Zombies that it frequently spawns.
- Commandos are helpful when countering Zombies as they can allow towers like Railgunner and Phaser to focus on the Reaper itself.
- Level 4-5 Tubers deal with high splash damage, making them very effective against the Reaper and preventing them from overwhelming players with zombies.
- Aviators are also useful for damaging the Zombies but used against numbers cannot effectively clear them, unless maxed.
- In Halloween 2020 and Halloween 2023, Railgunners are useful against the Reaper as long as they're upgraded to level 3.
- However, due to zombie spawns they might not hit all their shots.
Trivia[]
- The Reaper is notoriously known for Wave 5 (both Halloween 2017 and 2018), where four of them spawn and cause problems for every player.
