Phaser is considered complete.

The Phaser is a high-damaging, single target ground tower that can be purchased for 2,600 with a placement cost of $3,200.

Overview[]

The Phaser fires a beam of energy that gradually deals more damage the longer it is locked into its target. At level 1, the Phaser has Hidden detection and initially does 4 damage per tick which eventually increases to a maximum of 20 damage when fully charged. The Phaser's damage will initially increase by 1 after its first tick and then increases every two ticks afterwards, with each tick lasting 0.5 seconds. At level 3, however, its initial damage will increase after two ticks and then increases every four ticks afterwards, though this is reverted at level 4. At maximum charge, the Phaser does the highest damage per second amongst all towers in the game.

The Phaser can be most effective for taking out high health enemies and bosses rather quickly during late-game defense in Survival and event gamemodes. When its target is killed or out of range, the Phaser will have a cooldown time of 2.43 seconds. This, however, can pose a disadvantage when the Phaser targets weaker enemies instead of stronger ones, leading to constant cooldowns. Firerate boosts provided by the Commander and DJ will decrease its cooldown time instead of its tick.

Trivia[]

  • The Phaser's level 5 upgrade icon features shows Shoop Da Whoop firing a large laser beam from its mouth at a planet.
  • "Phaser" is an acronym for Phased Energy Rectification, a term which referred to the original process by which stored or supplied energy was converted to another form for release toward the target without any need for an intermediate energy transformation.
