Description[]
Mystery2 is a more powerful and mid-game variant of the Mystery that first spawns on Wave 29 and has 100 health. Mystery2 can turn into a Hidden Boss, Boss2, Lava, Slime or Lightning when killed.
Appearance[]
The Mystery2 appears to be a translucent red zombie with a question mark on its chest. Its shares the same body as the Mystery but with a different color.
Tactics[]
Defensive[]
- It is recommended to use multiple high-level crowd control towers such as Aviators, Plasma Troopers, or Mortars to stop these zombies.
- The health on the Mystery2 itself shouldn’t be problematic, but the zombies it spawns (such as Boss2 and Slime) can cause problems. Be sure to kill this zombie quickly, as the zombies they spawn can be dangerous.
- Commander's Airstrike can reliably take these down as they are more harmful when they reveal later in the map.
- Frozen, stunned, and dancing Mystery2s will not spawn zombies. This makes Cryo-Gunners, Sleeters, Snowballers Level 4-5 Enforcers and DJ's Apocalypse Rave ability great counters for Mystery2 hordes.
Offensive[]
- The Mystery2 can sneak past high hitpoint zombies, such as Boss3 and Boss4, to absorb overkill damage from Railgunners and Zeds to allow bosses to advance toward the exit.
- Swarms of the Mystery2 can just be enough to overwhelm a player if mixed with Hidden Boss rush or wave 28 Boss2 rush and are especially dangerous when turning into Slime and Boss2.
Trivia[]
- Due to server delays, when moving units such as Zed, Stryker or Graveyard's Haunted Knight kill a Mystery2, they will sometimes not be able to hit the zombie it spawns so it means they will pass through the zombies it spawned and kill another Mystery2, however, this is not consistent and usually does not work, it depends on the server.

- (8/10/19) Mystery2 now can spawns Super Slow.
- (7/22/20) Mystery2 now spawns Slime instead of Super Slow.
- Boss2 spawn is rarer by 50%.
- Zombies spawned by Mystery2's no longer give cash.
- (7/4/22) Mystery and Mystery2 now spawns the same enemies for both teams in versus mode.
