Description

The Christmas Event is an event that started on December 20, 2017 to celebrate Christmas and ended in March 22, 2018.

Additions

Event

  • The Christmas gamemode is added, along with its 10 waves. It required 30 wins to join.
  • Each player was given $5,000 at the beginning of the game.

Tactics

  • Commando is recommended for early game to defend against Gingerbreads and Snowmen.
  • Shadows spawn much earlier than Hiddens in normal gamemodes. To compensate, Aviators can be used to grant other towers detection to Camouflaged Enemies.
  • A wave 5, many Yetis and Golem will spawn and can easily overrun defenses. It is recommended that the team has multiple Railgunners and Phasers, along with other support towers such as Flamethrowers or Commanders to help defeat the large health pool bosses.
  • At wave 10, SantaBot spawns. SantaBot is able to disable towers by shooting presents at them or stomping its candy cane weapon on the ground. Use Commandos to distract SantaBot while Railgunners and Phasers take care of them.

Trivia

  • The Christmas Event was beaten by many more players than the Halloween 2017 event.
  • Due to unknown delays, the 2017 Christmas event lasted much longer than normal; namely, over 3 months.
    • The event lasted 92 days, from December 20, 2017 to March 22, 2018.
  • Along with all other events, players who are in this event will have a translucent appearance.
  • Before Halloween 2023 this is the most beaten event in Tower battles history, with the second being Winter 2022.
  • Technically this is the only Christmas Event, as the 2021 Christmas Event cannot be really considered an event. It was later replaced with the Winter 2019 Event.

Glitches

  • There is a glitch that allows players to glitch back into this game mode after the event is already over. However, if anyone is found exploiting this glitch will be automatically and permanently banned.
  • This event was known to frequently glitch in 5 players at the same time.
